Nagi Yacoub — Software Architect

I turn legacy systems into modern, high-performance web platforms.

Senior full-stack engineer and architect — front end to database. I care about solving hard problems cleanly, simplifying complex interfaces until they feel obvious, and getting performance most people assume isn't there.

About

Two decades of building — and rebuilding — for the web.

I've spent 20+ years designing, building, and modernizing complex web applications across healthcare (clinical imaging and DICOM), fintech (equity and stock-based compensation), and marketing technology (large-scale email and data systems).

My through-line is taking legacy systems — often slow, dated, and hard to maintain — and turning them into modern, high-performance platforms. Along the way I've led small teams, cut six-figure costs, improved performance several-fold, and migrated hundreds of clients with zero downtime.

What actually drives me is solving hard problems cleanlysimplifying interfaces until they feel obvious, and pushing performance further than people expect.

I build things that are simple, fast, and maintainable — not just things that work. That preference for fundamentals is why the platform below, and this very page, are hand-built on the web's own primitives.

Featured Project

Nexevo — a multi-tenant SaaS platform for regulated industries.

Independent project · designed & built solo, end to end

One person, the whole stack: authentication and role-based access, reporting, scheduling, notifications, per-tenant branding, and a multilingual UI — built for the compliance demands of healthcare and other regulated fields.

One definition, a whole system
SQL schema REST APIData layerTenant-isolation checks
JSON schema Data-entry formMerged Word templateFinished PDF

A custom code generator turns the database schema into the API — and one JSON definition drives both a report's input form and its final PDF. New endpoints and new report types need little to no new code.

01Multi-tenancy & access

One login across many tenants, each with its own data, role-based permissions, theming, light/dark mode, and language (English, French, Chinese).

02Code generation

A generator produces the REST API and data layer from stored procedures and enforces tenant-isolation rules at build time — so a class of data-leak bugs can't ship.

03Framework-free front end

Built from scratch on plain JavaScript: a virtualized data grid, JSON-driven forms and dialogs, a scheduler, and reusable controls — a drop-in with no build step.

04Correct time & dates

Consistent time-zone and date handling across every grid and the scheduler — times stored in UTC and converted to each tenant's zone for display.

05Defense-in-depth security

Server-side permission checks against live state, refresh-token revocation, CSP, and rate limiting — designed for PHIPA-regulated health data.

06Shipped & automated

Containerized with Docker behind Cloudflare, with automated build-and-deploy on every push to the main branch.

Stack:  .NET 10 · SQL Server · vanilla JavaScript · Docker · Cloudflare
